The devil lead the woman several buildings down and left. This took her into a series of narrow alley ways that were riddled with small rundown shacks and half existing stops. This was a mixture of useless buildings (possibly used for squatters) and people who sold rotting food and useless trinkets that looked so poorly run it was amazing they did business.
She could hear a faint roar--almost like a soft ocean roar. However nothing of the sort was near enough for such an event. He ducked into one of the better standing buildings. Better standing in the regards that it had crumbled buildings near that you would have to pass into to reach any of the holes in the walls.
The wooden building also consisted of poorly made fences and scraps of metal forged together to make the pathetic excuse for a settlement.
Inside was a gaunt man behind a counter. He was filthy, and his hair was thin and falling out. His clothes were bloody and tattered. Those dull eyes looked upon the devil.
"Well well..back again hm?"
The devil chuckled and smiled "With a compatriot"

Adara followed the devil--not knowing he was a devil, of course--as best she could, frowning at the rundown state of things. "Is there any place in your world that... isn't falling apart?" The more she remained in this universe, the more she began to regret her decision... and her government's decision. But then, they were desperate for any help, anything to turn to their war.
She followed the devil into a building and stopped behind him when he spoke to the gaunt man. "What is this place?" she asked the devil impatiently, eyeing the gaunt man with narrow, amber eyes.

"The only known place that isn't buried beneath ruble and made of shambling buildings is Seven Point Castle--no one knows much about it really, or why it is here. No nobles or court is held--it just seems like a dead ruin in perfect condition under guard for no reason. No one even knows who the guards work for, or why they guard it"
The devil only chuckled and her sharp question was asked. He gave a casual gesture for her to approach. The query was a friendly one, meant to bring her within respectable chatting distance.
"This is--Gallard and he is the proud attendant to The Pits. Its a small little joint that has very little business, but is a great escape from all the things in Coldstone's Place."
Indeed if Adara looked around she would see three small tables each with two chairs. So far, it appeared the unknown devil had been telling the truth--and so far all seemed fairly calm.

Adara listened to the devil as he spoke of the Seven Point Castle. The description intrigued her; maybe that was where she needed to go. Maybe she would find something useful and powerful there. Perhaps if the guards that guarded the place heard she was from a completely different universe, they would listen to her and let her inside. For now though, she said nothing.
She stepped closer to the devil to hear where she was. She looked around the place suspciously, trusting the devil less and less--though she didn't know he was a devil and so far he hadn't lied to her. Everything about this place, however, kept Adara on her toes and her guard up. She would continue to go along with the devil for now, but she didn't for one second think that he was helping her out of the kindess of his heart. Did any of these creatures even have hearts?
"So another bar," Adara grunted.

"Something like that--" the bar tender said with a smug look across his face.
As the brief conversation went on, a mechanical creature arrived through the front door. It resembled the creatures that were, apparently, the police force. The resemblance, however, ended with the general build. This one was a dull shade rather than a rich iron color, and moved in rigid fashion. Its body had been replaced by random scrap metal, which might have been cause of some of the rigidity within its movements.
The devil turned to the creature and offered a broad smile to it before it spoke. "Welcome! Right on time as usual."

Adara frowned at the bartender for a moment, but when the mechanical creature arrived she forgot the statement and turned to face it. "So you do have technology?" she asked, no one in particular. She assumed the creature was man-made and purely artificial or "Second-Stage Organic", as intelligent machines were called in Korlistar. When the devil spoke to the creature, Adara wondered, Right on time for what? Her hand drifted instinctually down to the military knife on her thigh as she waited to see what the machine would do.
