Alignment Descriptions
The following paragraphs will describe each alignment with enough give or take for someone to easily modify it enough to fit their character. These are not the stone cold definitions of the alignments--they are flexible. These are more or less guidelines to give you an idea of where you would be etc.
Lawful Good
[/b]Most could consider the Lawful Good as a type of crusader. They act as a good person is expected or required to react. They have a commitment to oppose evil with a discipline to fight relentlessly. Telling the truth, keeping their word, and helping others in need are all what this alignment is about. They speak out against injustice and obviously hate completely. They hate to see evil go unpunished. In the area of Dragontown, it is likely a Lawful Good character would try and form a sort of justice system. Lawful Good might be best for you because it combines compassion with the powerful trait of honor
Neutral Good
The Benefactor of society. A neutral good character does the best any good person in society can do. They help others in need and even work for more powerful figures, but do not feel an obligation to elevate them about anyone entirely. This alignment might be the best for you because it keeps the big picture in view, and aids others without a bias to or against any sort of order.
Chaotic Good
These types of characters are usually rebels of society, but keep the good of society in mind. They react as their conscience directs them with little regard for what is expected of them. They are kind and benevolent. By following their own moral compass, they usualy take a path that conflicts with the set laws of society. This alignment combines a good heart with a free spirit
Lawful Neutral
Law, tradition, and a personal code direct this person. They are the judge of situations. Order and organization are important to this kind of character. They might believe in order for a code on a personal level, or favor a strong government. Being this type of character means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.
Neutral
There are two paths to these undecided types. One being that they do not feel a strong tie to either good vs evil, or law vs chaos. They are neutral at its purest form. Most neutral character show a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil--after all they would rather have a kinder set of neighbors than evil ones. Still, they are not committed to upholding anything. The other path is a commitment to a philosophical neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as a type of prejudice and dangerous extremes.
Chaotic Neutral
They follow their own whims, like a free spirit, an individualist first and last. They value their own liberty, but does not make an effort to afford others their own. Avoiding authority, resenting restrictions, and challenging traditions--but not so for a large reason. They do not go out of their way to do so, as that would require motivations of good or evil. The behavior may be unpredictable, but it is not totally random, they do have their own guidelines.
Lawful Evil
The dominator of society.A lawful evil villain takes what he wants within the limits of his own code of conduit without care of who he hurts. Order, tradition, and loyalty are apart of his ideals, but freedom, dignity and life are not. He plays by the rules without mercy or compassion for his foes. He enjoys being at the top of a hierarchy, but does not mind serving. They punish people by race, social standings, and religion as opposed to anything else, and they are loath to break a promise. Some even prefer not to kill in cold blood (not to say minion couldnt) or not to hurt children.
Neutral Evil
Whatever they can get away with is this villains motivation--they are out for themselves pure and simple. They shed no tears for those they hurt or kill, and hold no love to order, and no illusion of laws and traditions would make her more noble. On the other hand, they do not have the restless nature that a chaotic villain might have. They are the kind of person who would kill for profit, or robs a person.
Chaotic Evil
Whatever greed, hatred, and lust drive them to do--that is their extreme motivation. Hot-tempered, violent, and undeniably unpredictable are characteristic of this kind of villain. If out to get only what they can get, they are brutal. If committed to the spread of ecil and chaos, they are even worse. Thankfully, any group they normally organize or join is poorly done so.Typically, chaotic evil people can be made to work together only by force, and the leader lasts only as long as he can thwart the assassination attempts.
