Character History:
(Gin Gi Tekken society is similar to a Spartan society in which, at an young age, all children-- males and females-- are subjected to military training alongside of their regular education. They develop quickly and are assigned to jobs and careers that their professors and instructors find them best suited for.
In general, the Tekken society is a technologically advanced non-human culture-- though similar to humans in appearance, but their bone and muscle density and flexibility is far greater than a humans, making them-- compared to humans-- extremely strong and agile at the same time: fit warriors.
The Tekken race has populated over 300 planets in 30 solar systems located nearby thier original solar system and planet, Korlistar. In recent Tekken events, explorer ships came across an alien race, something which had occured before in their travels and allowed the Tekkens to make alien allies, but in this case they made their first alien enemy, though the Tekkens are not sure how. The unknown race was immediately hostile, in a seemingly religious way, and attacked the Tekken explorer ship before coming across Tekken solar systems and destroying the surface of their planets with even more advanced technology than the Tekkens possessed.
Over five hundred years have passed and the Tekkens now know only of the war between them and the race they call the Reapers. Tekken technology has developed to match that of the Reapers' by now, but neither side can seem to get an upper hand and they each continue to fight with equal force. However, while the Tekkens grow tired and the Reapers appear to only relish the violent activity, the Tekkens seek a way to find help that will finally cause them to win the war and either destroy all the Reapers or just enough so they will not bother the Tekkens again.
They're alien allies won't help them, as they are not a violent race nor do they have much weaponry, so the Tekkens revert to the seemingly lost cause of an ancient ritual known as Realm Breaking: long before the Tekkens had expanded from Korlistar, one of their died out religious had created or come across the art of realm breaking, ripping apart the fabrics of one universe in order to travel to a sister universe, a universe that had collided with theirs but remained, by normal means, impenetrable. Only certain Tekkens born in a particular month, under certain circumstances had some power that allowed them to be the ones that could break into the sister universe. They used a dull short-sword with an unremarkable appearance to tear open a door into the sister universe.
Long ago, something had happened and most Tekkens had died; the race had almost been destroyed completely and the art of Realm Breaking was lost, as was the sword, known as the Korlith Blade.)
Adara is the daughter of a Gin Gi Tekken Admiral and has been in the army, training since she was 4 (19) and fighting Reapers by the age of 10 (25). She lost her mother and most of her family to Reaper attacks, though she still had her father, but they seemed to only communicate with each other on military business.
On a night most Tekkens of Korlistar considered an age-old holiday, Adara had been on a practise mission-- most of which turned out to be real missions with the war going on-- and discovered a ruin on her home planet Korlistar, where she came across a room covered with instructional paintings and a dias with a sword in it. Pulling the sword out, she seemed to know what to do with it instinctually and created a doorway into the sister realm. She didn't go through, though, scared of what she had done and what might have been on the other side, and she closed the doorway up.
Finishing her practice mission, she went to her superiors and told them of what she found and done with the ancient sword. They did not believe her at first, but she proved she could at least open up a doorway to the sister universe with the sword by preforming the ancient act of Realm Breaking, which she seemed to be able to do naturally, without instruction. They told her to leave the doorway open while they called experts on the 'myth' of Realm Breaking, who in turn became conviced that it was not a myth and that Adara was one of the rare Realm Breakers.
Having to act quickly, for only on certain nights could a Realm Breaker open up a doorway, the army convinced Adara to go through to the other side, into the sister universe, and find whatever help she could to bring over to their realm to help them defeat the Reapers before the Tekkens lost too many ships and soldiers.
